Sprint
Puzzle rush, free and in your browser
Updated
As many chess puzzles as you can before the clock, 3 misses and it stops. Sixty seconds below, no account, real puzzles from real games — then the full three-minute, five-minute and survival runs when you want a score that counts.
Play a sixty-second rush
A demo, checked in your browser. Nothing here is rated or recorded.
The three modes
The ladder climbs across a run: the first puzzles are easy on purpose, and the last ones are not.
3 minutes
The classic. As many as you can before the clock, three misses and it stops.
5 minutes
Longer, and the ladder climbs higher. Same three misses.
Survival
No clock at all. It ends at the third miss, and the puzzles only get harder.
What a scored run does that this demo cannot
Every move is checked on the server. The demo on this page holds its own answers, because a static page has nothing to ask. A real run does not: your browser is sent positions, never solutions, and the score is the server’s own count. That is what makes a leaderboard worth reading.
One leaderboard per mode. Three minutes, five minutes and survival are three different games, so they are three different boards. None of them touches your puzzle rating: speed is not a measurement of strength.
The ones you miss come back. A missed puzzle is queued for the next day, then three days later, then a week. Rushing is how you find the holes; the review queue is what closes them.

Ready for a run that counts?
A free account gets three runs a day, on all three modes, with a place on each board. Pro removes the daily cap.
Questions
What is puzzle rush in chess?
A timed run of chess puzzles that get harder as you go. You solve as many as you can before the clock runs out, and the run ends early at your third miss. It rewards pattern recognition at speed rather than deep calculation, which is the skill that carries over to blitz and to time trouble.
Can I play puzzle rush free, without an account?
The sixty-second demo on this page needs no account: it runs in your browser on real puzzles from real games. A full run — three minutes, five minutes or survival, with a score that counts — needs a free account, which also gets you three runs a day.
Does a puzzle rush run change my puzzle rating?
No. A rush is speed under pressure, not an honest measurement of your strength, so it moves no rating here. It has its own leaderboard per mode instead, and your rating is set by the rated puzzles, one at a time, with no clock.
How many misses do you get?
Three. The run stops at the third, whatever the clock says. That is the same in all three modes — in survival it is the only thing that ends the run.
How is this different from Chess.com's Puzzle Rush or Lichess's Puzzle Storm?
The format is the same idea, and both of those are good. Two differences here: every move in a scored run is verified on the server, so a score is something the server counted rather than something a browser reported; and the tactics you miss come back — a missed puzzle is queued for review the next day, and the scan can find the same motif in your own games.
Slow down again
A rush finds the patterns you do not have yet. When one keeps costing you a run, go and learn it: every motif has a page with its definition and puzzles you can play without an account.
