Comparison
chesstactics vs Aimchess
Facts about Aimchess checked against their own site.
Aimchess turns your games into stats and a workout. chesstactics teaches the motifs one at a time, then finds them in your games. What each one is for.
What Aimchess is
Aimchess connects to your Lichess or Chess.com account, analyses your games and turns the result into statistics, scouting reports on your opponents, and a daily personalised workout drawn from your own weaknesses. Tactics are one drill among several: the product is an analytics layer over your play, not a tactics course.
What Aimchess does better
- The statistics are genuinely deeper than ours: openings, endgames, time management, resilience, each tracked over time.
- Scouting reports on a specific opponent are something we do not do at all.
- The daily workout mixes several skills, not only tactics, closer to a general training plan.

Use Aimchess if…
Pick Aimchess if what you want is a dashboard: how your openings, endgames and clock handling are trending, and a mixed workout that follows from it. It is a better analytics product than ours and we are not trying to be one.
Use chesstactics if…
Pick chesstactics if the thing you keep losing to is tactics, and you want to be taught them rather than tested on them: the motif named, explained, drilled at your rating, then hunted down in your own games.
Questions
Is Aimchess free?
Partly: there is a free tier with a daily allowance of exercises and limited statistics, and a Premium subscription above it, listed at $7.99 a month or $57.99 a year on 2026-09-05. We are not quoting the size of the free allowance because the figures we found disagreed with each other. Their pricing page is one click away and it is the only source worth trusting for this.
Do both of them read my Lichess and Chess.com games?
Yes, and that is the closest the two products come. The difference is what they do with them: Aimchess turns them into statistics and a workout, our scan runs an engine over them and hands back the specific positions where you missed a tactic, with the motif named.
Can I use both?
Easily, and some people should. They answer different questions: "how am I playing?" and "which patterns can I not see yet?" Neither one replaces the other, and neither needs the other's account.
Try it before you decide
Every motif has a page with puzzles you can play without an account, and the sixty-second rush needs no account either. Pro is €39, once.
