Why not a subscription?
Tactics are learned, not rented. Charging every month would push us to stretch the learning out, which is the opposite of the job.
Lichess is free. Why pay?
If puzzles are all you want, do not pay: Lichess is where ours come from, and the rated puzzles here are free up to twenty a day. What you pay for is the part Lichess does not do: your own games scanned for the tactics you missed, named by motif and handed back until fixed, plus the hardest section of every journey.
Is the free tier stripped down?
No. Two full sections per journey, a real verified rating, a scan of twenty of your games. If you only ever use that, it is genuinely enough to get better.
What is the launch offer?
The first hundred founding members pay the launch price, for life. When the last seat goes the price moves to the struck-through amount. Nothing else changes: same product, same updates.
What happens to my progress and my data?
It stays yours, Pro or not: your rating, your journeys and your scanned games are kept. You can delete your account and everything in it from the Account page at any time.
I already use one of your other apps. Is there a discount?
Yes, both ways. Buy DarkSquares, ChessEndings or ChessAtlas and a code for 20% off chesstactics is emailed to you a few days later. Buying Pro here gets you up to 20% off each of them, with the codes shown right after you pay.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. Every motif page has puzzles you can play without signing up, and the sixty-second rush needs no account either. An account exists to remember your rating and your games.
How does it compare to what I already use?
Honestly, in two cases: ChessTempo and Aimchess. Both pages name what the other product does better, because a comparison that does not is an advertisement.
